A Self-Published Doujinshi
A four chapter work created as an accompaniment to Zhang Feilung's novel of the same name. It features the characters Taitou and Laila who appear again in 2006 in Juushin Enbu, although in Shishi Juushin Enbu they are considerably older. The premise also seems different, as well as the character personalities. The idea for the characters may very well be the only thing that was carried over to Juushin Enbu.

Her debut work, Stray Dog is a one chapter story about a renegade who suddenly finds himself the owner of an interesting dog-child and soon discovers neither of them can escape their pasts. Featuring numerous undertones similar to those in Fullmetal Alchemist, such as military experiments, and chimera, her entrance into the professional world of manga earned her first prize in the Ninth Twenty-First Century Shounen GanGan Awards.

Raiden-18 currently has two chapters published. Most of Arakawa's works feature an element of the supernatural, and Raiden-18 is no different. Professor Tachibana is a reimagined Dr. Frankenstein and Raiden-18 is her monster. Arakawa has created a macabre world where scientists recycle corpses into undead fighters and pit them against one another in competitions, in order to win more body parts for use in their experiments!

Published in the inagural issue of GanGan Custom, Souten no Koumori is a departure from the sci-fi laden stories Arakawa is known for. It features a young girl with a deadly and mysterious past whose presence puts everyone around her in danger. It is an extremely compelling story, which is, unfortunately, only a single chapter in length.

Juushin Enbu is billed as a collaboration between Arakawa and Huang Jin Zhou, but Zhang Feilung of Shishi Juushin Enbu probably falls in there somewhere as well. Huang Jin Zhou is actually a pseudonym made of up the Chinese characters for 'Golden Week' for a group of artists and writers, of which it seems Arakawa is a member of. A period piece, Juushin Enbu features Taitou as a young man with his sister Laila as they learn of a mysterious power Taitou holds, unbeknownst to him. It is rooted in Chinese folklore and history, as well as having an element of fantasy involved. As of December 2007, there are 8 chapters published, some of which are collected in the first tankouban.
You can read more in depth about Juushin Enbu's history, characters, storyline and anime at mobuta.com's newest addition: Celestial Crusaders.

Arakawa creates so many short pieces and gag strips that it's almost impossible to keep up with her. She began by drawing yon koma (four panel comic strips) for Gamest Magazine under the pen name Edmund Arakawa, and has since done a numerous amount of short stories, such as Totsugeki Tonari no Enix and Washi no Natsu Yasumi, as well dedications to her collegues in the manga world, published in everything from guidebooks to Big Comic Spirits. I like to refer to these dedications as tributes. Please click the skater to learn more about these finds.
