Porno Graffiti is made up of Haruichi Shindo on guitar, Akihito Okano, lead vocals and guitar, and Masami Shiratama (Tama for short) on bass guitar. In addition to Fullmetal Alchemist they also provided theme songs for other anime such as GTO and Ayakashi Ayashi. Tama has left the band as of 2004 to pursue a solo career.

L'arc en Ciel, which means rainbow in french, is comprised of bassist Tetsuya Ogawa, popular vocalist Hyde, guitarist Ken Kitamura, and drummer Yukihiro. Despite many mishaps including losing a drummer early on and breaking off to experiment with individual solo careers, L'arc has reached international fame, due in part to the success of Fullmetal Alchemist. They have recently celebrated their 15th anniversary together as a band.

COOL JOKE is Ishikawa Kanya on vocals, Saito Hiroyuki on drums, and Taku Asahata on guitar. As an underground band they related to the Fukui prefecture mainly, but have since gained national noteriety. As of October of 2006, Taku Asahata has left the band.

Asian Kung Fu Generation consists of Kensuke Kita on lead guitar, Masafumi Gotou on guitar and vocals, Takahiro Yamada on bass, and Kiyoshi Ijichi on drums. Formed in 1996, Asian Kung Fu Generation was something of an underground band for many years. Even so, they were so popular that when they did release a big label album, they made it to the top five in the charts during the first week of the album's release.

Nana Kitade made her debut into the music world with the first ending theme for Fullmetal Alchemist. She plays piano and guitar, and started writing her own lyrics at age 12. In addition to being a pop idol, Nana is also seen as a fashion icon known for her signature "gothic lolita" style, and even has her own clothing line.

Yuki, Yuko, and Hitomi make up the all girl band known as YeLLOW Generation. After only two albums they have announced their official disbanding.

Crystal Kay grew up with a father who played bass and a mother who was a professional singer, so it's no surprise she ended up with a musical career. She made it to the top ten for the first time with Motherland and has since provided songs for tv drama and film soundtracks.

Sowelu's real name is Aki Harada. While she enjoyed mild success with previous music, it was the song she recorded for Fullmetal Alchemist that gained her American fans. Her most recent album, 24-twenty four- debuted at number three in the charts and remained there for two weeks. In addition to Fullmetal Alchemist her songs have been used in numerous commercials, as well as the ninth Pokemon movie.

L'arc~en~Ciel orginally wrote a different song for the opening of the Fullmetal Alchemist movie, but after the animation sequence was being put together the makers of the film asked them to write another song that fit it better. So they came up with Link.

L'arc was initially only asked to create one song for the movie, but instead ended up writing three new songs for the film. In the end only Link and Lost Heaven were used.
