Episode 1 - Hagun Hoyuru Toki
Originally Aired: October 7, 2007

Laila looks on as their village burns and brave men are cut down by General Keirou. Taitou won't stand idly by and rushes into the Rentsuuji Temple to avenge his friends and neighbors. During his battle with Keirou, Taitou takes hold of the sword Kenkaranpu, which the general has come to steal. As he unsheathes it, a brilliant blue light shoots into the sky and a strange mark appears on Taitou's arm, much to the surprise of Keirou, who calls him 'Hagun'. At the same moment, this light causes similar marks to glow on six other beings scattered around elsewhere. With the Kenkaranpu Taitou is able to destroy Keirou's weapon and wound his eye. However, unable to control his newfound power, the general is able to attack Taitou and sends him over a cliff into the sea, claiming the sword as his own.

Ryuukou finds Taitou unconcious in the water and takes him home to be bandaged and cared for. Later, Laila 'gently' wakes him and together they visit the fresh graves of their fellow villagers and the injustice they've witnessed sends Taitou into a rage from which Laila calms him. However, she ends up running off in tears a few moments later.

Meanwhile, Keirou meets with his lacky, Shimei to discuss Taitou and the sword briefly, unbandaging his now scarred face. Back in Taizan, Ryuukou discusses Taitou's destiny and the Kenkaranpu with Laila's father and grandfather. It is decided Ryuukou will aid and guide Taitou who is wrestling emotionally with the loss of his fellow villagers and friends. Laila does her best to cheer him up. Taitou is busy training and Laila is hanging laundry when suddenly they are confronted by Shimei who's sword has a mysterious eye on the end of it. He forces Laila to attack Taitou before torturing them both by paralyzing Taitou and forcing Laila to strangle herself. His goal all along had been to push Taitou to the edge and awaken 'Hagun' which he succeeds in doing. As Taitou's mark appears the sky darkens and he is enveloped in blue lightning.

Episode 2 - Bukyoku no Sadame
Originally Aired: October 14, 2007

After being attacked by Taitou, Shimei pulls himself together and is elated at the reaction he's gotten from the boy. Ryuukou and Laila's father and grandfather sense something is about to happen. Taitou pursues Shimei, wrecking havoc along the way, and finally impales him against a wall with a tree just as Ryuukou and Laila's father stumble upon the scene. Taitou's anger and power causes Ryuukou's mark to glow which the boy reacts to by attacking Ryuukou. Ryuukou sees that Taitou is losing control and does his best to stop him. While they battle, Laila comes to and rushes in just as Taitou is moving to seriously injure Ryuukou. She manages to bring him to his senses in her own sisterly way, and he doesn't have any recollection of the fight.

While Taitou cleans up his mess, Ryuukou tells Laila of the legend of the stars they embody. Her grandfather later goes into further detail while they sit with Taitou. The story is that seven heros are destined to bear the mark of the Hokushin Tenkun and that the battle between Hagun, and Tonrou will destroy the Earth. A well known legend from Hokushin Kiki, Tale of the North Star. The other stars are Bukyoku, Komon, Renjou, Rokuson and Monkoku, and are known as the Goshintoushi, and that together Hagun and Tonrou are called the Nitenshinson, and will cause upheaval in the world. The Goshintoushi are meant to prevent this from happening. Taitou thinks it's ridiculous that everyone thinks he's 'Hagun' and Ryuukou tells them that he is Bukyoku, one of the Goshintoushi. Taitou refuses to believe this battle is his destiny and says he won't take orders from anyone. Laila's grandfather laughs at him and tells him that he cannot go against Heaven itself.

On a fancy riverboat, a man with a long braid with the mark of a star mentions General Keirou, who we soon see talking with Shimei about his encounter with Taitou. Shimei tells him that Bukyoku was there and because of that their plan was ruined. Shimei meant to kill Taitou, but Keirou changes the plan, believing the Heavens want him to live, and waits to see how Taitou will react to his military rule.

Taitou, Laila and Ryuukou head into town and discuss how resiliant the people are that they have begun to recover from the destruction and repair their homes so quickly. They visit their friends graves and Laila's father puts a stop to Taitou's vengeful thoughts commanding him not to do anything out of anger and wants to spar with him 'for old times' sake'. After their fight, Laila, her father and Taitou take a relaxing dip near a waterfall and Taitou asks about Keirou, discovering that he's the General of the Ken Empire. Taitou declares he'll travel to the capital to crush him.

Ryuukou thinks letting Taitou go to the capital is foolish initially, while Laila is excited and wants to tag along. Her father theorizes that if Keirou really did attack them that he must be planning to overthrow the Emperor and take control of the Empire, which is why he stole the Kenkaranpu. Laila's grandfather decides Keirou must be the star Tonrou and confesses to Ryuukou the reason he called him there is to guide Taitou as Bukyoku. Ryuukou challenges Taitou under the agreement that if Taitou loses they will forgo their pursuit of Keirou. During their fight Taitou learns quickly to control his ki, and they both end up on their backs. Taitou tells Ryuukou he wants to fight him again and because it was a draw he did not lose and is going to the capital. On his way out of the city, Taitou comes across Ryuukou and Laila, who insist on accompanying him, and together the three of them set off on their journey

Episode 3 - Souki no Chigiri
Originally Aired: October 21, 2007

At the start of their travels, Taitou reprimands Laila and Ryuukou for walking so slowly, but they remind him that the General of the Army has nowhere to run to, and if they hurry at the start of their journey it will only wear them out. Instead, they take a break to bath in a nearby river. As they bathe Ryuukou tells Taitou about a new fighting style that Keirou is supposed to be the most skilled at presently. While Taitou tries it out, the same riverboat carrying the man with the mark of a star floats by them toward a port town.

When our trio arrives at the town Laila and Taitou remark about how unremarkable it seems, and Ryuukou tells them that government officials have been known to take advantage of the people's earnings, preventing the town from blossoming. Taitou hates the government because of the new young emperor that doesn't seem to have any power over those that work under him, and they do as they please. Laila quickly shushes him before he's overheard. They split up while Ryuukou finds them somewhere to spend the night, and Taitou and Laila run off to see the riverboat. When the arrive though, the man guarding the entrance refuses to let them in so they head back to town to meet up with Ryuukou, who has found them somewhere to stay.

As it begins raining we find the man with the mark of a star, who is said to be leader of a clan called the Kashindan, having a lavish dinner with some government officals aboard the riverboat, discussing Keirou as they eat. During the night, Taitou wakes and goes out into the back to try out the new technique Ryuukou showed him, but is having difficulty when suddenly Ryuukou is there to offer advice.

Elsewhere, a young man climbs into a tree to get a better look at Keirou's army, the Genroutou. And is set on stealing their weapons.

Back in the port town, it is still raining the next morning, which has caused the water level around the city to rise, making their departure impossible. While they drink tea, the old woman putting them up for the night comes in to look out the window and tell them about Seiyuu, a large rock located high above the town. She tells them that it is the village's guardian deity, but that the government has prohibited worship of things other than what the Empire approves and she fears something dreadful will happen as a result. All of a sudden, men from the village are at her door to tell her that the rain is aversly affecting the stone's strength, and that it seems it will fall onto the town. Our trio head to the riverboat to ask the man in charge to let the townspeople on so that they will not be harmed by the stone's fall, but the same man as before once again refuses them entry. He shoves Laila and causes Taitou to punch him demanding to see their boss. The man with the mark, Koyo, comes out to talk and listens as they explain about the rock. The goverment offical Koyou had dinner with the night before shows up with all his property and goes aboard the ship. He tells Taitou to forget about the villagers, that they aren't important enough, and Taitou runs off.

Inside the ship, Koyou is surveying the treasure brought onboard by the government official, and remarks that he doesn't see the Gem of Seiyuu, and the official runs home to dig it up. Koyou has obviously tricked him and tells Laila to hurry and get the villagers onboard. Taitou has gone up to the stone, and attempted to tie it off, but it still begins to slide. Luckily Ryuukou shows up just in time to help him. Their ropes look like they will hold, but unforuntately the grown beneath Ryuukou gives and Taitou grabs him, holding a tree at bay above him. He refuses to let Ryuukou go, telling him they're more than traveling companions, they're friends. Taitou is able to channel his ki and save them both, but the rock still falls over the edge and slides halfway into town, crushing the government officals under it.

Later, the rain has stopped and the villagers are all safe, though their town is partially destroyed. Koyou floats away on his ship, happy to have conned the government official out of all his treasure, promising he will remember Taitou's name as our trio heads off again on their way to the capital.

Episode 4 - Goshin Toushi
Originally Aired: October 28, 2007

In the forest, Laila screams as she, Taitou and Ryuukou come across the remains of someone who was killed with an arrow to the head. They suddenly hear a girl scream and rush to find a man and a small girl being confronted by a group of thugs, which they quickly attack. They are interrupted by Housei, who tells the thugs to get away because they can't beat them. He turns to go, but sees Laila and is suddenly enamoured with her. As he turns his weapon on Taitou for shouting at him, it disappears, and he leaves. Ryuukou senses something about Housei...

In town, they are eating with the man and LinLin, the girl they saved, and the man explains to them the reason he was being attacked was because the girl is the daughter of the former leader of the town, and the thugs are vying for the position. Taitou is won over when he hears that the man was an orphan taken in by the leader and now LinLin is an orphan herself. Suddenly, the thugs burst in demanding to be served. When the owner refuses, Taitou rushes over to confront them. Housei shows up and begins hitting on Laila immediately. He is quite relieved to find out Taitou is Laila's brother and not her 'man.' They leave, but not before Housei tells Laila he'll be at the mansion if she wants to find him.

Later, Laila is awaked by Taitou's snoring and notices Ryuukou is missing. Elsewhere, Housei is looking for something in a weapons shed when he is approached by Ryuukou. He grabs Housei's hand a the mark of a star appears on Housei. Ryuukou tells him he is Rokushn, and explains that the seven stars carry weapons that suit them best. Since Housei was partial to bows and arrows, he knew he must be Rokushin and tells him that his weapons break because they cannot handle his energy. Housei's master sent him out to find a special weapon, but he doesn't tell Ryuukou this. After Ryuukou leaves, Housei finds a scroll he can't read, except the character for 'bow.' The leader of the thugs comes in and lies to Housei telling him the scroll is a list of new weapons that are coming. When Housei asks specifically about the bow, his boss tells him it is a special bow called Soutenkyuu.

The man they saved shows Taitou, Laila and Ryuukou a map over breakfast explaining that General Keirou will attack them soon. Taitou thinks they should steal their new weapons shipment, and Ryuukou agrees. That night, on their way to steal the weapons, Housei intercepts them and drools all over Laila, insulting and Taitou. They notice smoke in the direction of the mansion and all run for it. When they get there the mansion is on fire and Housei's boss is holding the Soutenkyuu. He thinks Housei has betrayed him and attacked early because of that. When Laila and Taitou try to run in to save the girl, Housei's boss rolls out some fancy new arrow-firing contraptions. Taitou and Ryuukou rush them anyway and as Taitou approaches Housei's boss, the man doesn't have the strength to draw his arrow with the Soutenkyuu, and Taitou knocks him down. Ryuukou saves the man and LinLin and Laila tries to help them escape, but they are mobbed by the thugs. Housei has found and picked up the Soutenkyuu and as he draws back his arrow, he is surrounded by blue light and pins one of the thugs to the wall while Taitou catches RinRin just in time.

The next day, the villagers work to repair their town as the thugs have all retreated. Laila compliments Housei on his bravery the night before and he is overjoyed, laying it on quite thick for her. They continue on their way to the capital, and Housei joins them, announcing that he will go wherever Laila goes, despite his head-butting with Taitou.
